Admission to Mid-America Christian University's (MACU) AAS in Nursing Program is competitive and contingent upon meeting all program requirements and prerequisites. Submission of this application does not guarantee admission to the program.

All application materials will be reviewed for eligibility, and applicants must provide complete and accurate documentation to be considered.

Acceptance into the program is based on a comprehensive evaluation of academic performance, required documentation, preference point scoring, and compliance with admissions standards outlined in this form.

Please upload a copy of your CPR Certification if you have it. The CPR can be from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association. Note: There will be a CPR training made available on campus. Please contact the School of Nursing for available training dates.

Please upload a copy of your Immunization Records if you have it. Documentation must show completion of all required immunizations. If completing a multi-dose series, documentation of doses received to date is acceptable. Documentation of required immunizations is needed for the following:

• COVID-19 Vaccine Series: Students who do not wish to receive the COVID-19 vaccine series must request a medical exception or a religious exemption, which must be approved by the clinical site.

• Influenza Vaccine: Due yearly, students who cannot receive an influenza vaccine must provide documentation from a physician requesting this exception. Per hospital and clinical site policy, if an exemption is granted, the student will have to wear a face mask during all clinicals.

• PPD: Students must provide written proof of a negative 2-step PPD. Each step must be completed one to three weeks apart from each other. The PPD annual update will be required. Students with a positive PPD must provide documentation of chest x-ray results and a TB questionnaire. Proof of a negative chest x-ray and a TB questionnaire must be completed annually.

• Tdap Vaccine: Documentation of the vaccine within the last ten years must be kept current. Other vaccines, such as DTaP and Td, will not be accepted.

• Hepatitis B Vaccine: Students must submit documentation of 2 or 3 Hepatitis B vaccines or a positive Hepatitis B titer. If students have neither, they must begin the Hepatitis B series. Dose 1 and Dose 2 must be dated at least 28 days apart, and Dose 2 and Dose 3 must be dated at least 16 weeks apart.

• Titers:

• Positive Rubeola Titer: If negative or equivocal, proof of one post-titer Rubeola booster is required.

• Positive Varicella Titer: If negative or equivocal, proof of two post-titer Varicella boosters is required.

• Positive Mumps Titer: If negative or equivocal, proof of two post-titer Mumps boosters is required.

Because you indicated that you are transferring from another Nursing program, please upload a Letter of Intent to Transfer. The letter is a personal statement explaining your reason(s) for requesting a transfer into MACU’s AAS Nursing Program.

If you are currently enrolled in a science course, you must provide proof of enrollment. Acceptable documentation includes either a copy of your course schedule showing the start and end dates of the course in progress, or an official letter from your Registrar’s Office confirming your enrollment dates and course details. Grades will be verified before final acceptance into the program.

Admissions Requirements Acknowledgement

I have submitted the Mid-America Christian University Application for Admission.
I understand that before I can be accepted into the Nursing program, I must complete all of the University admission requirements.
I have submitted official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.
I have successfully completed all required AAS Nursing Science courses with a minimum grade of C. If I am currently enrolled in my final required Science course, I understand that a final grade of C or better must be verified prior to the first day of the cohort for which I am applying.
I have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 in all college-level coursework.
I will have completed and submitted a federal background check with my AAS Nursing Program application. (Use code: VW83BG at the link above).
I understand that a second federal background check will be required at the time of the NCLEX application.
I agree to complete a 10-panel drug screen on Orientation Day, and I understand the results must be negative for continued enrollment.
I understand that all required immunizations must be completed prior to Orientation Day. If I am in the process of completing an immunization series, I confirm the series has already been initiated. I will provide documentation of immunizations on Orientation Day.
If English is not my first language, I understand I must complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) to demonstrate English proficiency.

I understand that if I am not admitted to the program, I may reapply during the application period for a future cohort.

Students seeking to practice nursing in a state other than Oklahoma are responsible for contacting the Board of Nursing to determine their eligibility and any further requirements according to that state’s licensure specifications. In addition, students will also want to check that the curriculum meets their state’s licensure requirements before enrolling in the program. ___________________________________________________________________________________________
